Welcome to the Official Website of The
Philippine Nurses Association of Southern
California, Inc. (PNASC).
What's New at PNASC?

Congratulations to 2007-2008 Incoming President
Brenda Cohen, RN,
BSHS
2007-2008 President
My PNA Southern
California colleagues, members of the Advisory
Board, Auxiliary members, our families, friends,
supporters and guests.
It is a humbling honor and a great privilege to
take on the helm of this prestigious and dynamic
organization. As I accept the torch of
leadership and responsibility, I strongly feel
the entrusted challenges to uphold the positive
image of PNASC. With the best of my ability, I
will strive to search for opportunities to
promote the welfare of all its constituent
members.
The vision and goals of 2007-2008 is Promoting
Nursing Excellence in Involvement, and Passion
in Caring through Awareness, Advocacy and
Activism.
Looking back thru the years, keeping in touch
with our beginnings, today, we commence a new
chapter in our history.
We go forward to a path towards a brighter
tomorrow for the nursing profession. The
momentum and energy are extraordinary. But, what
is most important about our advocacy is that, it
is directed not only in the future, but NOW. It
is now, that we need to keep this momentum going
and the only way to do that is with our
involvement and with our burning passion in
Awareness, Advocacy and Activism.
Moving forward in accomplishing our goals, we
must have PNASC in Motion.
Together we continue, to support and take care
of each other in the spirit of teamwork and
caring.
Together we continue our partnership and enhance
our involvement in PNA of America, our national
organization. Together, we continue to work
hand-in-hand, side-by-side with our energetic,
dynamic and visionary National President Rosario
May Mayor, in Promoting a culture of Excellence,
Dedication, and Commitment to Community,
Involvement and Passion in Nursing, a strong
foundation for the next generation. Madame
President, we salute you for your ambitious
agenda. You can count on our support. You are
our shining gold star leading the way on a high
road to success.
Together in a unified, strong and meaningful
voice, we continue our active participation in
achieving Nursing’s Agenda for the Future. This
strategic plan provides a blueprint for Nursing
as we strive to address the complex and
interrelated factors that drive the nursing
shortage.
Together as everyday health care heroes, we
continue to advocate for access to high-quality
nursing care and that all nurses can provide
such care in safe and good working environments.
Together in unity, we continue to raise
awareness of the challenges and opportunities
facing the nursing profession. We need to be at
the frontline, increase our power and
visibility. Our voices must be heard and our
presence must be counted in the health care
reform arena.
The years of 2007 and 2008 will be all about the
three (3) Vs – Visibility, Vitality and
Viability thru the three (3) As – Awareness,
Advocacy and Activism.
Congratulations to the newly elected Executive
Council inducted with me tonight. I look forward
to an amazing, trailblazing and incredibly
productive two years with all of you. A brighter
future in the nursing profession is NOW. The
opportunity to make a difference is OURS.
God bless America. God bless our troops. Let us
pray for their safe return. And for those who
fall and have fallen; let their efforts not be
in vain. |
